Week 07/04-07/08

Hi!
During this week we worked on the new test track design. I'm working with Eduardo to figure out the best option of the track. Last week we had a meeting with the owners of the area that we gonna use. They said that they are trying to buy an area from the government. We used this area to design the new test track. We decided to do two loops at the beggining and the end of the track. Also, We did 2 stations, one on the ground level and other elevated. These are the sketchs of the new test track and the 3D model that I did on Autocad.
Our goals for next week is the Solar Conference on San Francisco next tuesday and to draw the 3d model on Solid Works.

Hello!!
During this week we had two importants meeting, one with Professor McMullin and another with the owners of the test track area. We had progress with our concerns for the project. More details are in the team blog.
On wednesday Eduardo, Ron and I went to City Hall Center, to ask the process of obtain the use permit. They told us that we need to know the setback boundaries of the area and bring the site plan printed. I worked on the presentation and on find relevant information for the test track design. Also, on the afternoon we had a brief presentation for the high school students that visited our shop. It was important because we were not expecting to present, but overwall our team did very well.
For the weekend, we are planning to see the firework of the 4th jully on the beach.

Week 06/20 - 06/27

This week was really challenging because we didn't have the meeting with Professor McMullin. Therefore, our doubts and concerns about the project were stagnated because of lack of orientation. During this week, I helped Eduardo with the test track options and read examples of EIR.
The next steps are go to City Hall Center for guidance to obtain the conditional use permit and talk with the owners of the area that we going to use to build the test track.

Today is the last day  one of the civil team members and my dear friend Davi. He was really helpfull on this project and my personal life, a wonderful person. We all gonna miss him!

Also, I've been searching examples of EIR and collect transit data for analysis. I started to work in our EIR draft and sources that can help the development of our first draft.

Spartan Superway

Hello! My name is Karima Lagraf, and I'm an exchange student from Brazil. I was born in Algeria, but I've been living in Brazil since I was little. I study Environmental Engineering at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). I came to United States on June 18th to study at Florida State University. I've done 2 months of english class and then two semesters of engineering classes.
Before I came to San Jose, I did a road trip around the US. It was really fun! Then, I arrived here at San Jose on sunday night and started at Spartan Superway Project on monday. I will be envolved in the environmental studies. I am really excited to be part of this project. There is a lot of work, but I think that it will be a great experience for me!!
